Three games. Three wins. Team Yandex never found an answer.
Team Spirit lifted the PARI Universe trophy with a clean 3-0 in the Grand Final. One of those games ran for 72 minutes. None of them were ever truly in doubt. Spirit looked like a team that knew exactly where the match was heading from the first draft.
Our pre-event article got most of the picture right. We said Team Spirit would fight through the lower bracket and reach the Grand Final. They did. We said Team Yandex would be waiting for them there. They were.
The one miss was the winner. We picked Yandex to take the series. Instead, Yandex lost every game.
Dota 2 odds and expert picks are a starting point. They are built on form, history and draft tendencies. They cannot measure everything. Spirit had spent days in the lower bracket, playing high-pressure series after series. That kind of run can build momentum that no preview captures.
If you watched the bracket unfold and felt that Spirit looked sharper, you were reading the room correctly. Sometimes the gut call is the right call. Use our analysis as a guide. Do not treat it as a rulebook. When your own read of the matches disagrees with ours, take that seriously.
Each game told the same story in a different way. Spirit stayed in control throughout.
The opener was close early. Then Spirit found their edge around the 16-minute mark and never gave it back. Yandex had no clean way to claw into the game after that. It was a steady, disciplined win.

This was the toughest test of the series. Yandex held a slight lead until about minute 30. Many teams would have folded or panicked when that lead slipped away. Spirit did neither.
Their macro decisions were simply better. They picked fights at the right moments, took objectives when Yandex was out of position and kept the map under control. As the game stretched past an hour, Spirit out-scaled their opponent in the long endgame. The 72-minute finish felt less like a coin flip and more like a slow squeeze.

Anyone checking the Dota 2 live stats during that game would have seen the swing happen gradually. There was no single big teamfight that decided it. Small advantages stacked up until Yandex had nothing left.
The final game also pushed toward the one-hour mark. This time the long fight wore Yandex down. From minute 40 onward, they were considerably behind. Spirit ground out the win and closed the series.

Whichever Dota 2 betting site or prediction platform you use, the lesson from this series is the same. Long games reward the team with the better plan, not just the better draft. Spirit had both.
This result matters beyond one trophy. Spirit went through a roster shakeup after The International. Many fans wondered if the team would keep its edge.
The Grand Final answered that question. The same calm decision-making and the same ability to turn a long game into a win were all on display. Spirit remain a team you cannot write off in any bracket, in any format.

The Dota 2 calendar rolls on. Teams will study this series closely. Yandex will want to know how a slight mid-game lead turned into a sweep. Everyone else will want to know whether Spirit can keep this level going.
Before the next big matchup, check the draft, watch how teams handle long games and trust what you see. Then lock in your picks on GoCore Pick’ems and see how your read compares with the rest of the community.
Did you back Spirit against our prediction? Tell us in the comments how you called it.
