Liquipedia has released its latest Dota 2 team rankings, powered by SAP analytics, reflecting the competitive results from the 2025 season so far. The August update puts Tundra Esports at the top, followed by a stacked lineup of contenders. Here’s a deep dive into each of the top five and their 2025 highlights.
Tundra’s year has been defined by high-profile wins and deep runs. They kicked off 2025 by edging out Team Falcons 3–2 in the FISSURE PLAYGROUND Belgrade final and later claimed the title at BLAST Slam II.
At the Esports World Cup, Tundra topped their group, beat BetBoom Team in the quarterfinals, but fell to Team Falcons in the semifinals. They finished in fourth place after a lower bracket loss, but their steady results across multiple S-tier events put them at the top of Liquipedia’s global rankings. They also won BLAST Slam II and BLAST Slam III.
Falcons have been a consistent force throughout 2025. After their close loss to Tundra in Belgrade, they roared back at the Esports World Cup, defeating Team Liquid in the quarterfinals and sweeping Tundra in the semifinals.
Despite a 0–3 loss to Spirit at the Esports World Cup, their ability to reach championship matches repeatedly cements them as one of the year’s strongest teams.
Liquid’s season boasts two major trophies, winning both PGL Wallachia Season 3 and PGL Wallachia Season 4 in commanding fashion. These victories showcased their adaptability and strength in long-format events.
Their Esports World Cup campaign was cut short in the quarterfinals by Team Falcons, but with two premier titles in the same year, they remain firmly in the global top three.
Spirit’s ranking may be fourth, but their peak performances are unmatched. They secured DreamLeague Season 25 in a close 3–2 victory over Tundra before dominating the Esports World Cup grand final with a 3–0 sweep over Team Falcons.
While not always as consistent in smaller tournaments, Spirit’s dominance in the most prestigious events keeps them feared by every opponent.
BetBoom’s 2025 campaign has been far from quiet. They won FISSURE Universe: Episode 4 with a clean 3–0 sweep over Gaimin Gladiators, secured second place at DreamLeague Season 26 after falling 0–3 to Parivision, and claimed PGL Wallachia Season 5 with a 3–1 victory over Gaimin Gladiators.
Their quarterfinal finish at the Esports World Cup, losing to eventual champions Tundra means they’ve been a consistent factor deep into major events, earning them a solid fifth in the global rankings.
