Birmingham hosted the Dota 2 circuit for the fourth time, and Tundra Esports gave the city a result worth remembering. Eight days of competition at the bp pulse LIVE arena concluded on March 29 with Tundra lifting the ESL One Birmingham 2026 trophy after a 3-1 Grand Final win over Team Yandex, taking home $250,000 and a significant batch of ESL Pro Tour points.
The event was the third point-awarding tournament of the 2025-26 EPT season, part of DreamHack Birmingham 2026, and notably the first Arena LAN since The International 2025. Crowd energy across the playoff weekend reflected that significance.

If you tracked the action through Gocore's daily match tips and Pick'ems, Birmingham delivered more than enough drama to keep the predictions competitive from group stage to Grand Final.
The group stage ran from March 22 to 25, splitting 16 teams across two round-robin groups of eight. All series were best-of-two, with the top two from each group advancing to the upper bracket, third and fourth heading to the lower bracket, and the bottom four going home.

Team Yandex topped Group A with a 12-2 record, closing their campaign with a six-game win streak. Tundra Esports took second at 11-3, with MOUZ finishing third and Team Falcons fourth. In Group B, Aurora Gaming were the dominant force, winning six series and drawing one to claim first place. Team Spirit secured second, while Xtreme Gaming placed third and PARIVISION fourth.

Eight teams were eliminated at the group stage: GamerLegion, Virtus.pro, BetBoom Team, paiN Gaming, Yakult Brothers, OG, Nigma Galaxy, and REKONIX.
The final day of the group stage coincided with the release of Patch 7.41, which removed the Facet mechanic entirely and added nine new items to the pool. Teams had no time to fully adapt before the playoffs began, making the bracket stage a test of flexibility as much as preparation.
The upper bracket semifinals on March 26 saw Team Yandex beat Team Spirit 2-1 and Tundra Esports eliminate Aurora Gaming 2-1. In the lower bracket, Xtreme Gaming and PARIVISION won their opening matches, with Xtreme defeating MOUZ 2-1 and PARIVISION eliminating Team Falcons 2-0.
Xtreme Gaming carried their momentum through the lower bracket with conviction. They beat the eliminated Team Spirit 2-1 in the lower bracket quarterfinal, then outlasted PARIVISION 2-1 in the lower bracket semifinal to secure a lower bracket final berth. PARIVISION's run ended there after also taking down Aurora 2-0 earlier in the bracket.

Any Dota 2 betting site tracking the tournament would have flagged Xtreme Gaming as the clearest value proposition of the playoff stage. Their ability to navigate three consecutive lower bracket matches under Patch 7.41 conditions was one of the more impressive stretches of play the event produced.
On March 28, Tundra completed the upper bracket run with a 2-0 win over Yandex in the upper bracket final. Yandex dropped to the lower bracket final and beat Xtreme Gaming to book their Grand Final spot.

The best-of-five Grand Final pitted Tundra against Yandex on March 29. Yandex took Game 1 with Saksa standing out on Hoodwink and watson closing it out on Muerta, catching Tundra off guard through a series of precise positional punishments.

Game 2 threatened a repeat when Yandex's CHIRA_JUNIOR built an early lead on Sand King.Tundra steadied from that point and won three games in a row to claim the series 3-1. For British player Matthew "Ari" Walker, lifting the ESL One Birmingham trophy at home, in front of his home crowd, carried meaning beyond the $250,000 prize.
With Birmingham concluded, the ESL Pro Tour season moves into its next phase. DreamLeague Season 29 and PGL Wallachia Season 8 are both on the upcoming schedule and will carry weight for teams chasing Esports World Cup 2026 qualification. Tundra's win reshapes the EPT leaderboard in their favor, while Yandex remains well-positioned in second. For those keeping tabs on upcoming Dota 2 tournaments, both events will test how the field has adapted to Patch 7.41 with actual preparation time.
