Sixteen teams entered the BLAST SLAM VIII group stage. Only four came out without losing a series. PARIVISION, Team Spirit, Team Yandex and Aurora Gaming all finished 2:0 and never needed a decider.
That clean record earns them a seeding match on October 3, and nothing more. The $750,000 dota 2 ongoing tournament now splits into two paths. Winning a seeding match sends a team straight to the Upper Bracket Semifinals. Losing one still lands them in the Upper Bracket Quarterfinals. The 2:1 teams have no safety net. Their Last Chance series are win or go home.
All four Saturday series are live on GoCore Pick'ems. Every correct call earns +1 and every miss costs -1, so picking the right favorites matters as much as spotting the upsets.
A quick scan of the Dota 2 live scoreboard from the group stage tells a clear story. The favorites delivered, and the second seeds had to fight for every inch.
Group A belonged to PARIVISION. They swept Level UP and then LGD Gaming without dropping a map. LGD regrouped and edged Xtreme Gaming in the decider to claim second.

Group B was tougher for Team Spirit early on. The TI champions needed three maps against Team Nemesis before sweeping 1w Team. 1w bounced back with wins over NAVI and Team Nemesis.

Team Yandex cruised through Group C without losing a game. OG took the scenic route. They lost their opener to BetBoom Team, beat MOUZ, then got revenge on BetBoom in the decider.

Group D finished with Aurora Gaming on top after wins over GamerLegion and Team Liquid. GamerLegion produced the upset of the stage. After losing to Aurora, they beat Yakult Brothers and then knocked out Team Liquid 2:0.

We back PARIVISION to win and move into the Upper Bracket Semifinals. They lost a five-game TI final by the narrowest margin and look determined to prove it was no fluke. Four maps played, four maps won. Aurora are a real threat and dropped only one game in Group D, but PARIVISION have been sharper at every stage. Aurora drop to the Upper Bracket Quarterfinals.

Our pick is Team Yandex. This is the bold call of the day. Spirit hold the TI crown, yet Yandex were the cleaner team this week with a perfect map record. Spirit looked shaky against Team Nemesis, and Yandex have rarely given opponents that kind of opening. Yandex advance to the Upper Bracket Semifinals. Spirit take the Quarterfinal route.

These two series are the closest calls on the card. A dota 2 betting site would ask for real money on coin flips like these. On GoCore, your read of the game is the only stake.
We pick GamerLegion. Momentum is everything in an elimination match, and nobody has more right now. Sending Team Liquid home 2:0 showed they can handle pressure. LGD finished their group with an even map count and have not found that same gear.

We back OG. They have already survived one must-win series this week and came out stronger. Avenging the opening loss to BetBoom showed real resilience. 1w beat Team Nemesis convincingly, but OG's experience in high-pressure Bo3s gives them the edge.

The playoffs run from October 8 to October 11 at BLAST Arena Studios in Malta. The bracket is double elimination. Every series is Bo3 except the Bo5 Grand Final.
Today's results shape that bracket. The seeding winners get a direct route to the semifinals and an extra layer of protection. The Quarterfinal teams start their LAN with no room for a slow start.
Lock in your four picks on GoCore Pick'ems before the first series starts. Two of these matches are close calls, so this is where leaderboard ground gets won.
