Stake Ranked Episode 5 is the final stop on a crowded calendar. Eight teams meet in Barcelona from October 27 to 30, playing for a $100,000 prize pool and $25,000 for the champion. It is one of the last CS2 tournaments before the November 2 cut-off for PGL Major Singapore invites. For several teams here, every map carries ranking weight.

The format is familiar. A double-elimination bracket runs on best-of-three series until a best-of-five grand final. Day one belongs to the upper bracket quarterfinals. Lose there and elimination is one series away.

The field changed late. B8 withdrew on October 3 and fnatic took their place, setting up an immediate rematch with the defending champions.
Our picks are Astralis, BIG, Inner Circle and MIBR. Lock them in on GoCore before the 12:00 CET opener, then use the reasoning below to decide how much confidence each one deserves.
The biggest CS2 news in this bracket is Astralis itself. The Danes won Episode 4 with a 3-1 grand final over Nemiga, their first LAN title since 2019. Days later, HooXi and jabbi were benched. siuhy arrived as in-game leader and cmtry moved from the AWP to a rifle.
The new five topped their group at Stake Pulse Beat III before falling to MIBR. The results are there, but the structure is still settling.
fnatic know this matchup well. Astralis beat them 2-0 in Barcelona three weeks ago, conceding nine rounds across Ancient and Dust2. That win came with the old lineup. The all-Ukrainian fnatic roster has strong records on Anubis and Cache, and a win would lift their simulated Major invite chances from around 16% to over 50%.

We still back Astralis. Staehr was the highest-rated player at Episode 4, and Ancient remains a dependable pick. Confident, but less safe than the seeding suggests.
BIG and magic open the event at 12:00 CET, the first of the CS2 matches today on the Barcelona stage. Rankings lean slightly toward magic, who sit 26th on HLTV against BIG in 37th.
The head-to-head says otherwise. BIG beat magic 2-0 at HLC Belgrade Pro in April. They also bring recent experience on this stage, having beaten fnatic at Episode 4.

magic changed their roster on October 6, swapping mo0N for lattykk. Three weeks is little time to rebuild. The core did reach the Episode 2 grand final, so the ceiling is real. We expect BIG's veteran structure around blameF and tabseN to handle the opener. Medium confidence.
This is our riskiest call and the series worth following on CS2 live scoring from the first round. Nemesis won both maps of their only meeting in January, including a 19-16 overtime on Mirage. They also arrive with qualifier momentum after knocking out fnatic.
Inner Circle have the higher ceiling. headtr1ck leads a lineup with Tier 1 experience from BLAST Open Porto this year. Coach jR moved to a managerial role on October 16, with stikle- stepping in for this event.

The veto matters. Nemesis win often on Inferno, a map Inner Circle ban almost every time. A win would nearly double Inner Circle's simulated Major invite chances. We pick them, with a clear upset warning attached.
MIBR arrive as the highest-ranked team in Barcelona. They reached the Stake Pulse Beat III final and beat Astralis along the way. insani has played like one of the best CS2 players outside the top tier, holding a 1.24 rating over the last three months.
Eternal Fire have one strong argument. They beat MIBR 2-1 in the IEM Beijing closed qualifier in September. Recent form is shakier, with two losses in the PGL Bucharest 2027 qualifier.
MIBR's Major spot is already secure, which removes pressure. Expect them to settle the September result. This is our highest-confidence pick of the day.

MIBR and Astralis anchor the card. BIG sits in the middle. Inner Circle is the calculated risk that can separate you on the leaderboard. Every correct pick earns a point and every miss costs one, so decide now whether you back all four or hedge on the closest series.
Lock your picks on GoCore before the first map goes live on October 27. Then tell us in the comments which upset you see coming.
