CS2 News: Vitality Sweep MOUZ to Win ESL Pro League Season 24

Team Vitality are the champions of ESL Pro League Season 24. The French side swept MOUZ 3-0 in Sunday's best-of-five grand final at the Spodek in Katowice. They won Cache 13-8, Inferno 13-7 and Dust2 16-12 after overtime. It is the biggest cs2 news of the weekend, and it shows Vitality are close to their best again.

This is their second straight title after StarLadder StarSeries Fall in September. That run matters. Before StarSeries, Vitality went five events without a trophy. MOUZ started the series well. They won the opening pistol on Vitality's map pick of Cache and built a 5-1 lead with aggressive CT plays. Then ZywOo and ropz won a 3v5, and the momentum changed. Vitality took over the map and never gave it back. They won Cache 13-8 despite losing both pistol rounds. ZywOo finished the map with 21 kills and a 2.00 rating.

Inferno was MOUZ's pick and their comfort zone. They came in on a six-map winning streak on it. Vitality ended that streak quickly. flameZ and apEX locked down Banana for a 9-3 CT half, and ropz did not die until round nine. Vitality won a force-buy after the second pistol and closed the map 13-7.

Dust2 Drama and Overtime Heartbreak

Dust2 was the one map where MOUZ looked like winners. xertioN opened with a triple kill, and the in-game leader kept his team in the fight all map. Vitality kept attacking the B site. mezii landed a triple entry with seconds left in one round, and Vitality went into the half ahead.

MOUZ came back hard in the second half. A xertioN four-kill on A helped them reach 12-9 and three map points. Vitality did not break. ropz and flameZ found multi-kills to force overtime. After that, MOUZ fell apart. They did not win a single overtime round, and Vitality closed it 16-12.

ZywOo Tops the Best CS2 Players in Katowice

ZywOo was named MVP of ESL Pro League Season 24. It is the 34th MVP award of his career. In the final alone he went 64-33 with a 1.65 rating. Among the best cs2 players in the world, few can still decide a grand final like he does. After the match, apEX called him the best ever on Cache.

ropz and flameZ gave him strong support. On the other side, MOUZ's Hungarian pair torzsi and xelex had a difficult day. That left too much work for xertioN, Spinx and PR.

What the Result Means for the Next CS2 Tournament

For MOUZ, the pain is familiar. This was their third grand final of the season. They got there by beating Team Spirit 2-1 in the semifinals.
